"How To Reduce Fall Risk And Increase Balance Without Missing Another Day Of Doing What You Love!"

A Personal Message From Specialist Physical Therapist, Jack Wong...
- Are you worried about falling in your home and not being able to get back up?
- Are you worried about bodily injury that requires surgery or bed rest to recover?
- Are you frustrated because you never had a problem with your balance and suddenly you don't have the same confidence in your stride?
- Are you unsure about what you can do about your balance, or have you been told that there is nothing you can do about it?
- Have you been told that falling is just a part of aging?
- Have your friends and acquaintances been falling and you fear you may be next?
"The Number Of People Suffering From Balance Concerns And Fall Risks Is Increasing Significantly..."
- To “accept it” because falling is normal because of your “age”
- You haven't fallen yet so you "shouldn't be concerned"
- You need to expect a fall because “nothing else can be done”
At Next Level Physical Therapy, We Specialize In Helping People Aged 40+ Increase Their Balance, Spatial Awareness, And Reduce Their Fall Risk To Return To Their Normal, Active Lifestyles Without Fall Injuries Or Losing Confidence In Their Stride.
It can be overwhelming to know exactly what you should do when you’ve got balance and fall risk concerns.
There are so many options out there:
- Friends tell you to try installing expensive rails and equipment to hold onto
- Family members tell you to buy this device to call when you have a fall
- A colleague mentions using a cane or a walker
- And meanwhile the doctors are telling you that you shouldn't worry because hip surgery is after a fall "isn't that bad"
With all these choices it can be hard to seek care, because you might be afraid of what may happen if you make the wrong decision.
Many people you have worked with (doctors included) make the CRITICAL MISTAKE of only treating the “symptoms” of fall risk, and not taking the necessary steps or time to understand the true, “root causes” of your problem.
When It Comes To Something As Serious As Balance…
Our goal at Next Level Physical Therapy is not only to get rid of your fall concerns, whether you have experienced a fall already or just have concerns from close calls, but also restore your confidence and give you a PERMANENT solution to your problems.
The human body has an AMAZING potential to recover when given the proper guidance and environment to practice.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, We Have Created A 5-Phase Process To Not Only Eliminate Your Concerns, But Also Keep It Away For Good.
Phase 1: Understand Your Problem
We understand the frustrations that plague the medical system. It’s getting more difficult to spend more than 10 minutes with your physician, or even find a way to get the specialist care you need.
Even with most physical therapy clinics, treatments often feel rushed, impersonal, and not very attentive…
Which is why our first phase… before we do anything… is to get to know you and hear your story.
Every person who has fall risk and balance concerns is different. We all have different body types, medical histories, and different levels of spatial awareness.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, we understand that every person is unique, which is why our first phase is to get a deeper understanding of what is happening to you, and what goals you want to achieve.
This starts with having an open and honest conversation about your health.
We want to ensure that you feel comfortable working with us, and that we will be a good fit to help you before we begin any treatment.
PHASE 2: FINDING THE ROOT CAUSE OF YOUR CONCERN
If you’ve had a fall in the past or you’ve seen your friends fall and end up in surgery then your concerns may be obvious, but…
Many people are unaware of what causes their balance concerns and that these issues CAN get better, even if your doctor told you nothing could be done except to just live with it.
How to prevent falls?
We often find there are parts of your body that may not be working efficiently, therefore, putting extra stress on the other joints of the body.
Examples of this can include:
- Old Injuries that never healed properly and create compensations in the way you move
- Weak Core Muscles which can add stress on your joints and create strain on the nerves without you knowing
- Scar Tissue and Stiffness that develops from previous surgery or chronic inflammation that causes lack of mobility in your joints and limbs
- Muscle Imbalances which come from years of sitting too long at work, or poor postural habits
- Weak Lower Extremity Muscles which are unable to absorb force efficiently so the stress goes into your back, hips, and other joints
Every person’s root cause may be different. It depends on injury history, time frame, body type, and many other factors.
Our goal is to find the root cause of pain and fix it naturally so you can get your mobility back and return to the things that you love.
If you are still skeptical and unsure if physical therapy is right for you…that’s fine. That is why we created the discovery session.
What Is A Discovery Session?
Our discovery session is an in office appointment between you and our balance specialist where you will have the opportunity to get all your questions and concerns answered.
It will give you clarity on the root cause of the problem, and awareness to know that this problem of yours CAN be fixed NATURALLY!
PHASE 3: CUSTOMIZED PROGRAM TO HELP YOU INCREASE CONFIDENCE AND RESTORE YOUR MOBILITY
People are usually told to use assisted walking equipment or install expensive equipment in their home by doctors. But the problem is, this is only effective if you are at home or walking on a flat, even surface!
Without proper guidance and practice, your balance will never increase and you will always be dependent on equipment and not going to certain places.
It is critical that BEFORE you start scratching your favorite restaurants and activities off of your list that you think about how you can improve your balance.
One of the ways we accomplish this is the use of natural manual therapy techniques.
What Is Manual Therapy?
Manual therapy is the method of using highly targeted treatments that will help you RAPIDLY restore confidence and increase spatial awareness to REDUCE your risk of fall.
We use different tools that will help you feel better such as:
- Breaking up scar tissue from previous surgeries or injuries
- Unlocking stiff, achy, and irritated joints regardless of arthritis in the joints
- Releasing tight ‘knots’ or ‘muscle spasms’ that create discomfort
Manual Therapy helps to remove “tightness” from areas that are frequently irritated and increase blood circulation into these problem areas…this will help with range of motion and create a more optimal environment to increase your spatial awareness and reduce fall risk.

PHASE 4: RETRAIN YOUR BRAIN-BODY CONNECTION
Most people think that if their balance is fine, that the body is fine.
This is simply not true!
Most people don’t realize that balance and spatial awareness deteriorate over time if you don’t specifically work the muscles and senses involved and then “little” things trip you up.
Examples of these “little” things might be:
- A raised spot in the floor
- A single step up or down
- Raised corners of a rug or section of carpet (especially when going to the bathroom at night)
- Getting in and out of a vehicle
Why Does This Happen?
Because the brain interprets the lack of use as unnecessary functionality!
Most balance exercises you learn from doctors or traditional physical therapy only focus on building strength or increasing mobility, they do nothing to restore the very critical brain-body connections.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, our exercise program offers much more than a “sheet of strength exercises”, or some ‘mobility’ stretches…
We do this by giving you complete 1-on-1 focused attention in every session to help you reach your goals.
- Restore your confidence in performing ALL movements that you were fearful of doing throughout the day
- Return to living life with PROPER guidance so you don’t have to worry about falling or injuring yourself again
- Develop ‘Brain-Body awareness’ so you are able to self-correct any improper movement
- Get back all the things that you enjoy like walking, playing with your grandchildren or walking the dog
PHASE 5: OPTIMIZE YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE
Our best clients are people who are motivated and committed to becoming active again even if they sometimes feel stuck in their current situation…
If you are willing to put in some effort and open to learning about your body, and you are ready to get back the quality of life you deserve, then you would be a great fit…
And can expect to see amazing health transformations.
- A life where you can go to the bathroom at night without turning every light on
- Get back to going for hikes and walks on uneven ground without worry
- Be able to play with your kids or grandkids without needing help to get up off the floor
- Be able to go to your favorite restaurants and businesses without worrying about the incline to get to the front door
- Return to your active lifestyle without having to rely on grab bars, canes, or walkers
Give us a call to talk to our balance specialist and find out if we would be able to help you with your fall risk concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr.Jack Wong
